Miami Players To Watch:
Offense: Running Back – Damien Martinez – Junior
Martinez is coming off his best game of the season last week against Florida State as he rushed for 148 yards on 15 carries and had two touchdowns. This week he gets a Blue Devils defense that ranks 15th in the ACC against the run. Facing a defense like Duke that allows 96.5 yards per game to their opponent’s top running back, in eight games they have allowed a 100-yard rusher in five of those games. This game opens the door for Martinez to have another explosive week for the Hurricanes offense.
Defense: Defensive Lineman – Simeon Barrow Jr. – Senior
Barrow Jr. leads the Hurricanes defense in sacks with 5.5, he will face a Duke offense that ranks 15th in the ACC, 13th in the pass, and 14th in the rush. Look for him to wreak havoc in the backfield and make it a long day for a struggling Blue Devils offense.
Bottom Line: Miami Cant Look Ahead
The Hurricanes seem like they are likely on their way to a matchup with Clemson in the ACC championship game, but they have to stay focused with four games left in the regular season they can’t allow a slip-up, this offense is too potent, and can be tough to stop for many of the teams remaining on their schedule. The defense has also done its job but they need to keep themselves composed and play their game and this season will be just fine.
