The Texas Longhorns will take on Louisiana Monroe tomorrow night and will look to go 4-0 for the second consecutive season. Tomorrow will also be a special day as three new inductees into the Hall of Honors will take place as former quarterback Colt McCoy, defensive end Alex Okafor, and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will be enshrined.
QB – Colt McCoy – 2005-2009
McCoy played in 53 games at Texas throwing for 13,253 yards with 112 touchdowns and 45 interceptions. He won a Maxwell Award in his final season awarded to the player of the year, he also finished second in the 2008 Heisman voting and third in 2009 and was a two-time All-American those seasons. He led Texas to the National Championship in 2009 but lost to Alabama. He would play 11 seasons in the NFL playing in 55 games throwing for 7,975 yards with 34 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.
DE – Alex Okafor – 2009-2012
Okafor played four seasons at Texas playing in 52 games and recording 150 total tackles with 88 of those being solo, he had 36 tackles for loss, 23 sacks, and seven forced fumbles. He would play nine seasons in the NFL playing in 106 games recording 215 tackles with 147 of those being solo, he had six forced fumbles with three fumble recoveries, one interception, and 31.5 sacks.; he won a Super Bowl in 2019.
WR – Marquise Goodwin – 2009-2012
Goodwin spent four seasons at Texas playing in 50 games, he caught a total of 120 passes for 1,364 yards with seven touchdowns; he finished his Longhorns career with 1,769 yards from scrimmage and ten total touchdowns. He played in 114 NFL games hauling in 191 passes for 3,090 yards with 18 touchdowns in his ten-year career.
