Texas Players To Watch:
Offense: Quarterback – Quinn Ewers – Sophomore
Ewers is going up against the 12th-ranked passing attack in the Big 12, so he should feast on the passing attack. He ranks 38th in the country in passing yards and eighth in the nation in completion percentage; look for Ewers to have a big day for the Longhorns, as he seems to march them down the field on every offensive possession.
Defense: Linebacker – Jaylan Ford – Senior
Ford is the leading tackler for the Longhorns with 88, and in the Championship game, he has to focus on Ollie Gordon II, who has 1,580 yards this season and 20 touchdowns; he has the most rushing yards in the country and is second in touchdowns. He must keep Gordon in check for the Longhorns to come out on top.
Bottom Line: Texas Looking to win Big 12
The Longhorns are back in the Big 12 title game for the first time since 2018 and are looking to claim their first Big 12 title since 2009. Since 2000, the two times the Longhorns have won the Big 12, they played in the National Championship; they could do that this season but will need some help to get there, with the most significant question hanging over them being the ACC Championship game. Texas needs to take care of business against Oklahoma State, and hopefully, everything else will fall into place for them to make the College Football Playoff for the first time.
