Hurricanes To Watch:
Offense: Wide Reciever – Xavier Restrepo – Senior
Restrepo has been a beast this season and is 66 yards away from 1,000 receiving yards for the season. Over his last five games, he’s averaging 102.4 yards per game and one touchdown a game. In the loss last time out he caught four passes for 78 and a touchdown, he’s easily Cam Ward’s favorite target, and this week he has a big matchup against a passing defense that ranks last in the ACC, looks for Restrepo to have a big game and even surpass his season high in receiving yards which is 163 which he did against Cal.
Defense: Defensive Back – OJ Frederique Jr. – Freshman
The 6’0” 180lb freshman out of Fort Lauderdale leads the Hurricanes defense in pass deflections this season with six. He will be facing a Demon Deacons passing attack that ranks seventh in the ACC. Look for him to make his presence felt and keep Wake Forest in check
Bottom Line: Miami CFP Hopes Still Alive
With the loss last time out the Hurricanes are holding on to their College Football Playoff lives. They are currently the fourth seed but they need to win out to hold their spot in the ACC Championship to have a chance to get that first-round bye. The two games they have coming up that they need to win are this one and next week against Syracuse which will be a tough one for Miami. They can’t look ahead to that game though they need to focus on handling this week’s battle and continue down the path one game at a time.
