The Arizona Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 in overtime Sunday at AT&T Stadium, and the run game decided it. Arizona ran for 202 yards at 7.5 a carry, while Dallas managed about 2 a carry on 39 attempts.
That gap mattered more than the turnover column. Dallas did not give the ball away, and Arizona lost it twice. The Cardinals still piled up 467 total yards to 261 and won anyway.
How It Happened
Dallas struck first on a James Mitchell fumble-recovery touchdown with 2:33 left in the first quarter. Dak Prescott then found Ryan Flournoy for a 9-yard score midway through the second, making it 14-0.
Chad Ryland's 37-yard field goal with 1:13 left before the half got Arizona on the board. Dallas led 14-3 at the break.
Brandon Aubrey stretched the lead with a 31-yard field goal in the third quarter. Tyler Allgeier answered by breaking a 63-yard touchdown run with 57 seconds left in the quarter, cutting it to a one-score game.
Prescott ran in from 5 yards early in the fourth, putting Dallas up 24-10. From there, Gardner Minshew II took over. He hit Allgeier for a 5-yard score, then Trey McBride from 14 yards out, each time pulling Arizona within one possession.
Dallas kept answering with Aubrey's leg rather than touchdowns. His 41-yard field goal with 1:09 left made it 30-24. Minshew then found Michael Wilson for a 13-yard touchdown with 6 seconds remaining. The extra point failed, sending the game to overtime at 30-30.
Overtime
Ryland ended it with a 42-yard field goal with 2:53 left in the extra period. It was Arizona's fourth straight scoring answer after falling behind by 14.

Chad Ryland, ARI: 2 FG (37, 42 yards), 3 PAT, 1 failed PAT
Dak Prescott, DAL: 9-yard TD pass, 5-yard TD run
Brandon Aubrey, DAL: 3 FG (31, 35, 41 yards), 3 PAT

Passing: ARI – 27-46, 265 net YDS; DAL – 19-29, 168 net YDS
Allgeier's long run flipped the game's momentum, and his receiving score started the comeback. Arizona's ground game averaged roughly three times what Dallas produced per carry, which kept drives alive even after 5 sacks.
Dallas had chances to put it away. The Cowboys went 3-for-5 in the red zone and settled for field goals twice in the fourth quarter. Touchdowns on either of those drives likely end the comeback before it reaches overtime.
What It Means
Both teams sit at 3-5. For Arizona, the result fits a clear pattern: the Cardinals are 3-2 on the road and winless in 3 home games.
That split is the strangest thing about this team. Arizona has done its best work away from home, and this win came in a building where it trailed by two touchdowns.
Dallas falls to 1-3 at home. The Cowboys won the turnover battle and got a fumble-recovery touchdown, then still lost because they could not run the ball or stop the run.
