The Cleveland Browns beat the Tennessee Titans 27-24 when Andre Szmyt hit a 32-yard field goal as time expired. Cleveland outgained Tennessee by nearly 170 yards, and the yardage finally showed up on the scoreboard with no time left.
How It Happened
Tennessee came out swinging. Tony Pollard broke a 36-yard touchdown run at 12:57 of the first quarter, then added a 10-yard score at 8:35 for a two-touchdown lead.
Cleveland answered through Quinshon Judkins. His 5-yard run with 5:32 left in the first cut the gap to 7, and his 6-yard run at 2:17 of the second quarter tied it. Szmyt then hit a 28-yard field goal on the final play of the half for a 17-14 Browns lead.
Neither side scored in the third quarter. Joey Slye tied it at 17 with a 29-yard field goal at 8:41 of the fourth.
Deshaun Watson put Cleveland back in front with a 9-yard touchdown run at 4:34. Pollard answered with his third score, a 1-yard run with 58 seconds left, to tie it at 24. That left enough time for the Browns to move into range, and Szmyt closed it from 32 yards.

What It Means
This game should not have come down to the last snap. Cleveland averaged about 7 yards a play to Tennessee's 5 and piled up 26 first downs to 18. Both teams turned it over twice, so the giveaways didn't explain the margin.
The Browns scored touchdowns on 3 of 5 trips inside the 20, a better rate than Tennessee's 2 of 4. Tennessee's run game kept it alive, with Pollard accounting for all three of its touchdowns.
Cleveland moves to 5-2. The road split remains the storyline: the Browns are 3-0 at home but only 2-2 away, and this one needed a walk-off kick against a team that has won once all season. If Cleveland wants to be taken seriously, it has to close out road games like this before the final whistle.
Tennessee falls to 1-6 and is still winless at home at 0-4. The Titans had the lead early and tied it late, but could not finish the job.
