Lions Players To Watch:

Offense: Quarterback – Jared Goff

Goff is going to be a key in this one as this game is expected to be a shootout. Goff needs to dial it in and get the offense rolling and not turn the ball over. Last season when these two teams played in the playoffs he threw for 277 yards and a touchdown, he will need to do that again for the Lions to win this game and start 1-0.

Defense: Defensive Back – Carlton Davis III

This should be the whole secondary as they will have the task of slowing down Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua but Davis gets his number called because this is exactly why the Lions went out and acquired him. He faced Kupp and Stafford in 2022 and in that game, he finished with six tackles, one for a loss and Kupp had 127 yards on eight catches, he’ll need to slow that down for the Lions to win.

Bottom Line: Lions Football is Back

The 2024-25 Detroit Lions season is set to get underway and with expectations raised after last year’s success Sunday night’s game is a chance to prove why those expectations are high. Detroit went out this offseason and got some pieces to address their secondary now they need to put it all to work and come out this one with a win and start the season 1-0 as they look to make it back to the NFC Championship game and advance to their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
