The Georgia Bulldogs are No. 1 in the AP Top 25 for Week 11. They took over after the Miami Hurricanes lost 31-24 at Notre Dame and fell to No. 5.
The Top 5
Georgia drew 53 of the 70 first-place votes and 1,729 points after a 42-7 road win at Ole Miss. Utah took 12 first-place votes at No. 2, and Notre Dame took the other 5 at No. 3. UCLA moved up to No. 4. Utah and UCLA, both 9-0, are the only unbeaten teams in the poll.
The Fighting Irish climbed one spot to No. 3 and now sit two places ahead of the team they beat. Every team from No. 1 through No. 4 moved up one spot.
Tennessee Earned Its Jump Into the Top 10
The Tennessee Volunteers made the biggest climb among teams ranked in both polls, up 7 spots to No. 9. They got there by beating the Kentucky Wildcats 34-6 at home.
It was not close. Kentucky managed 6 points and fell 5 spots to No. 13. Both teams are 7-2, and Tennessee now sits ahead of the team it beat.
Tennessee now sits behind Alabama and Texas, both 7-2. Alabama moved up 2 spots to No. 7 after winning 31-13 at LSU, and Texas moved up 2 to No. 8 after winning 34-20 at Missouri.
Oregon Took Ohio State's Place in the Poll
The Oregon Ducks entered the poll at No. 18 after beating the Ohio State Buckeyes 41-28 on the road. Ohio State fell 10 spots to No. 21, the biggest drop among teams still ranked.
Oregon was unranked in the previous poll, and Ohio State was No. 11. Both now sit at 6-3, and the Ducks are ranked ahead of the team they beat.
SMU was the other newcomer, entering at No. 25 after a 51-28 home win over Virginia Tech. Missouri and Florida both dropped out after losses. Missouri fell to Texas 34-20 at home, and Florida lost 23-7 at home to Oklahoma.
Home Losses Sank LSU and Ole Miss
The LSU Tigers fell 9 spots to No. 24 after losing 31-13 at home to Alabama. At 6-3, they now sit near the bottom of the poll.
The Ole Miss Rebels fell 7 spots to No. 19 after Georgia beat them 42-7 in their own stadium. Ole Miss is also 6-3, and a loss that lopsided at home is hard to hold a top-15 spot through.
BYU took a smaller hit for a closer loss. The Cougars fell 5 spots to No. 12 after losing 28-20 at Utah, a road defeat against an unbeaten team.
Games That Will Move Next Week's Poll
No. 2 Utah Utes at No. 22 Arizona Wildcats – Saturday, November 14. Arizona comes in off a 29-28 home win over TCU, and Utah has to protect a 9-0 record on the road.
No. 15 USC Trojans at No. 6 Indiana Hoosiers – Saturday, November 14. Both teams had a bye last week, so this is the first chance for either to move on a result.
No. 8 Texas Longhorns at No. 24 LSU Tigers – Saturday, November 14. LSU is hanging on at the bottom of the poll, and another home loss could push it out.
No. 11 Wake Forest Demon Deacons at No. 25 SMU Mustangs – Saturday, November 14. Wake Forest beat Merrimack 77-0 and SMU just entered the poll, so this is a real test for both.
