Texas Players To Watch:

Offense: Running Back – CJ Baxter – Freshman

Baxter has been put into the fire after Texas lost Jonathon Brooks for the year, and in his first start, he did not disappoint, rushing for 117 yards on 20 carries, good enough for an average of 5.85 yards a carry. This week, he is going up against the seventh-ranked rush defense in the Big 12; he will be relied on heavily to try to get the win for Texas.

Defense: Linebacker – Michael Taaffe – Sophomore

Taaffe has been a stud on the defense, recording three interceptions tied for the team lead. He also has 36 tackles this year. He will most likely be on Xavier White, who leads the Red Raiders in receiving yards; look for him to force a pivotal takeaway to get the ball back to the Longhorns offense.

Bottom Line: Texas One Win Away from Big 12 Title Game

The Longhorns are about to wrap up their regular season and, with a win, are in the Big 12 Title game. They are also still in the College Football Playoff race; they need help to get in, but things may break their way. All they have to do is focus on winning against Texas Tech and beating whoever they face in the Title Game, and they may find a way to sneak in.
