NCAA Week 6 Top 25

Week 5 is in the books and the updated top 25 for week 6 has been released, and there is a new number one team in the country.

1.) Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) Last Week: 4

Last Week: Win over Georgia 41-34

Alabama looked like a force against Georgia despite letting the Bulldogs back into the game in the second half and even a late lead in the fourth the Alabama offense answered. Jalen Milroe finished with 374 yards throwing and 117 yards on the ground and combined for four touchdowns.

2.) Texas Longhorns (5-0) Last Week: 1

Last Week: Win over Mississippi State 35-13

Arch goes the start for Texas in their first-ever game as a member of the SEC and despite a slow start for Texas he finished 26/31 for 324 yards and a touchdown as well as adding a touchdown on the ground.

3.) Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) Last Week: 3

Last Week: Win over Michigan State 38-7

The Buckeyes had a big middle two quarters in their route of the Spartans, Will Howard finished with 244 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

4.) Tennessee Volunteers (4-0) Last Week: 5

Last Week: Idle

Tennessee had the week off before heading to take on Arkansas

5.) Georgia Bulldogs (3-1) Last Week: 2

Last Week: Loss to Alabama 41-34

Georgia roared back against Alabama, but the defense couldn’t stop the Crimson Tide offense as they allowed 374 yards through the air and 173 yards on the ground. Carson Beck finished with 439 yards with three touchdowns, but he also had three interceptions.

6.) Oregon Ducks (4-0) Last Week: 8

Last Week: Win over UCLA 34-13

The Ducks are starting to look like they were expected to look. Dillon Gabriel threw for 278 yards with three touchdowns, but the story was Jordan James rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown.

7.) Penn State Nittany Lions (4-0) Last Week: 9

Last Week: Win over Illinois 21-7

The Nittany Lions kicked off conference play and showed how good their defense is allowing just seven points. Kaytron Allen led the offense with 102 yards rushing and a touchdown while his partner Nicholas Singleton finished with 94 yards and a touchdown.

8.) Miami Hurricanes (5-0) Last Week: 7

Last Week: Win over Virginia Tech 38-34

Miami came out with a win behind a controversial call to end the game. Cam Ward had his worst game of the season but still threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns, he would finish with two interceptions.

9.) Missouri Tigers (4-0) Last Week: 11

Last Week: Idle

Missouri had the week off as they get set for a top-25 matchup.

10.) Michigan Wolverines (4-1) Last Week: 12

Last Week: Win over Minnesota 27-24

Michigan’s defense has struggled in the second half this season besides their issues on offense. They were lucky to come away with a win in their rivalry game against Minnesota.

11.) USC Trojans (3-1) Last Week: 13

Last Week: Win over Wisconsin 38-21

USC rebounded with a win and their first Big Ten win. Miller Moss threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

12.) Ole Miss Rebels (4-1) Last Week: 6

Last Week: Loss to Kentucky 20-17

Ole Miss suffered a tough loss at home as the offense just couldn’t get going. Jaxson Dart threw for 261 yards with only one touchdown. Tre Harris had a day hauling in 11 passes for 176 yards and caught that lone touchdown.

13.) LSU Tigers (4-1) Last Week: 14

Last Week: Win over South Alabama 42-10

LSU looked dominant on Saturday as Garrett Nussmeier threw for 409 yards and Caden Durham rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown, one of his carries was for 86 yards.

14.) Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-1) Last Week: 16

Last Week: Win over Louisville 31-24

Notre Dame picked up a win against a ranked opponent as Riley Leonard once again led the way throwing for 163 yards with two touchdowns as well as rushing for 52 yards and a touchdown.

15.) Clemson Tigers (3-1) Last Week: 17

Last Week: Win over Stanford 40-14

Clemson looks like the Tigers of old as they dominated Stanford on Saturday. Cade Klubnik threw for 255 yards with four touchdowns and an interception.

16.) Iowa State Cyclones (4-0) Last Week: 18

Last Week: Win over Houston 20-0

The Cyclones kicked off Big 12 play with a win as Abu Sama III ran for 101 yards and a touchdown.

17.) BYU Cougars (5-0) Last Week: 22

Last Week: Win over Baylor 34-28

BYU continues to look good this season as Jake Retzlaff has complete control of the offense.

18.) Utah Utes (4-1) Last Week: 10

Last Week: Loss to Arizona 23-10

The Utes dropped their first game in a matchup of former Pac-12 games. Isaac Wilson threw for 280 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Utah couldn’t’ stop the Arizona offense.

19.) Oklahoma Sooners (4-1) Last Week: 21

Last Week: Win over Auburn 27-21

Oklahoma picked up their first SEC win. They switched from Jackson Arnold and went with Michael Hawkins Jr. who went 10/15 and threw for 161 yards, he finished with 69 yards rushing and a touchdown.

20.) Kansas State Wildcats (4-1) Last Week: 23

Last Week: Win over Oklahoma State 42-20

The Wildcats rebounded from their loss with a dominant win against Oklahoma State as Avery Johnson and DJ Giddens led the way. Johnson had 259 yards through the air and 60 yards rushing combing for five total touchdowns while Giddens had 187 yards rushing and a touchdown.

21.) Boise State Broncos (3-1) Last Week: 25

Last Week: Win over Washington State 45-24

Boise State continued to look good behind the strong rushing attack of Ashton Jeanty who is a Heisman favorite, he ran for 259 yards and four touchdowns.

22.) Louisville Cardinals (3-1) Last Week: 15

Last Week: Loss to Notre Dame 31-24

Louisville struggled against Notre Dame but Tyler Shough didn’t look bad throwing for 264 yards with three touchdowns.

23.) Indiana Hoosiers (5-0) Last Week: NR

Last Week: Win over Maryland 42-28

Indiana continues to dominant to start the season as they are currently undefeated, they may be undefeated until the middle of October, but things get tough for them in November.

24.) Illinois Fighting Illini (4-1) Last Week: 19

Last Week: Loss to Penn State 21-7

Illinois suffered their first loss but didn’t look bad, they just struggled to get going on offense and find the end zone against a good Penn State team.

T-25.) Texas A&M Aggies (4-1) Last Week: 24

Last Week: Win over Arkansas 21-17

The Aggies continued to roll as Le’Veon Moss ran for 117 yards. Marcel Reed at quarterback threw for 163 yards and had two touchdowns but also added a rushing touchdown.

T-25.) UNLV Rebels (4-0) Last Week: NR

Last Week: Win over Fresno State 59-14

UNLV was without their quarterback and running back who are sitting out due to NIL issues, but you wouldn’t know it as the Rebels’ offense rolled. Hajj-Malik Williams threw for 182 yards and ran for 119 yards adding four touchdowns.

Next Up: Friday vs. Syracuse 9:00 PM EST
