Lions Players To Watch:
Offense: Wide Receiver – Amon-Ra St. Brown
The Packers rank 19th in the league in passing yards allowed and to this point they allow their opponent’s top receiver to average 4.3 catches per game and 58.6 yards a game, which includes Marvin Harrison Jr.’s zero-catch game, if you take that out they allow 4.9 catches a game and 62.7 yards per game. St. Brown is coming off a two-catch for seven yards and a touchdown, look for him to have a big game this week.
Defense: Defensive Back – Brian Branch
The Packers bring in the ninth-ranked passing offense and have a lot of talent to worry about in the passing game Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Tucker Kraft, and Christian Watson they also have Josh Jacobs who can catch out of the backfield. The Lions need to focus on slowing down the Packers’ passing attack and Branch is a big key to that aspect of this game.
Bottom Line: Biggest Game of the Season to This Point
The Lions currently lead the Packers by one game in the division if they were to lose this game the Packers would have the tiebreaker for the time being with a matchup later in the season. The Packers may be without Jordan Love which may be a break for the Lions, but the Packers are 2-0 when Malik Willis starts, he’s been having a good season when he comes in for Love. This will be a big test for the Detroit defense on the pass rush, with the trade deadline Tuesday this game may expose more than the Titans game will just how badly they need a pass rusher.
